A woman once claimed that, when buying a used car, she based her purchase on the music station - she only bought cars that had classical music programmed into their dial. In her opinion, country and rock listenners were too hard on their cars.
In addition, people assume that your musical choice is somehow affiliated with your political leanings. Country is conservative, rock is liberal, classical is for foreigners, and pop is for the youngun's. This is, frankly, bullshit. How else can you explain the Dixie Chicks or Shania Twain? Recently, my modem... died. It had been teetering for numerous weeks, refusing acess unless I shut down the computer, recited a portion of the Tao Ching, sprinkled holy water on the cord, and restarted the computer while singing "These are a few of my favorite things". I think it is trying to communicate in morse code. ..-..- .-. ----. If only I knew how to read it...
